Bob Zak has a familiar voice to Chicagoland radio listeners, heard on more than a dozen radio outlets and 3000 commercials over the past 35 years. In the 1980’s Bob hosted shows on suburban stations WCSF and WJRC, country station WCCQ, talk radio WJOL and also its sister station 96.7 I-ROCK, as well as WJTW, WCSJ and WKKD.
In the 90’s, Bob was heard on Chicago radio stations Super CFL, 105.9 WCKG and Y107.9-The 70s Station as well as satellite Star Station. In the new millennium, Zak hosted a nightly classic rock radio show on WERV-95.9 The River for 13-years.
For his community service and contributions to broadcasting he has received honors from numerous organizations including Big Brothers, Easter Seals, Groundwork, American Legion, among many others. He most recently received the Distinguished Alumni Awards from both Joliet Junior College and the University of St. Francis.
Over the years he has interviewed hundreds of local and national politicians, celebrities and newsmakers, as well as entertained audiences playing drums for area classic rock and oldies bands.
He still enjoys being behind the microphone entertaining audiences today as much as he did 35+ years ago. – and he’s happy to call 103.9 The Fox his ‘broadcasting home’…
